Are you kidding me?? Kids in the ghetto still don’t have computers in their classrooms?? Maybe if they stopped concentrating on “bling” and the high crime rate and focused more on education, these kids would have a shot in life!

That comment is ignorant, so that will be the only time I make reference to it. We as educators must find the way to engage students and show them the importance of learning new and emerging technologies. Most faces that are seen as the ‘gurus’ of technology are of one ethnicity. Technology in education needs to be more diverse so that the message reaches out to all people, not just the ’select few’. The question remains, why are people of color, African-American, Hispanic, Indian, etc..still being left behind?
